    Custom Data Storage Servers

Built to your workload — not pulled off a shelf. TrueNAS/ZFS storage servers designed, built, installed and configured around the way your business actually uses data.

    TL;DR — Quick Summary

Beathan designs and builds custom data storage servers on TrueNAS / ZFS hardware. We start with a sit-down consultation to understand the workload (video streaming, editing, file sync, archive, backup), then design, build, install and configure the server — and connect every client device to it. Capacity ranges from terabytes to petabytes; pricing is per build because every server is bespoke.

    • Consultation-led — design follows your workload
    • Terabytes through petabytes
    • Install + client device configuration included

A Process, Not a Product Catalogue

We don't sell pre-built storage appliances. Every Beathan data storage server is engineered around a specific business problem, and that means the first step is always a sit-down meeting — not a price list. We need to understand why you need storage before we decide what to build, because a video streaming platform, a CAD/editing house and a backup archive all need radically different hardware even when the raw capacity figure is identical.

Our platform of choice is TrueNAS on ZFS. ZFS gives us copy-on-write integrity, block-level checksumming, snapshots, replication and storage tiering — the building blocks behind every serious enterprise storage product, but on hardware we spec ourselves so the price reflects your actual workload instead of a vendor markup.

    Real Builds We've Delivered

    Petabyte-Scale Video Streaming

A client wanted to build their own video streaming platform and content servers. After understanding the workload, we delivered two purpose-built servers:

    • Streaming server — high-throughput read-optimised pool feeding the public streaming platform
    • Editing & archive server — bulk capacity for raw footage, edit projects and long-term storage

Total capacity: petabyte-class, split across the two tiers so editing workloads never starve the live streaming pool.

Private File-Sync for a Knowledge Business

A client wanted their own private storage instead of trusting a public cloud. We:

    • Ran the consultation, scoped the working data set and growth curve
    • Built the server to that spec
    • Installed it on their premises
    • Configured every laptop in the company to mount and sync the correct folders

End result: a private, in-office storage platform with the convenience of a cloud sync product — owned outright.

    How a Build Runs

    1. Consultation

Sit-down meeting to understand the workload, growth, users and access patterns.

    2. Design

Disk count, vdev layout, RAM, networking and tiering specced to the actual workload.

    3. Build

Hardware assembled, TrueNAS deployed, ZFS pools created, snapshots and replication configured.

    4. Install & Connect

Server installed on site or in DC; client laptops and apps configured to use it.
