Business VoIP in South Africa, supplied and installed end-to-end
Beathan Technologies provides business VoIP as a complete package — not just a SIP account and a username. We supply the SIP handsets for the desk, we install the softphone application on every workstation and laptop in the company, and we configure the SIP trunk so the same number rings on the desk phone, the PC and the mobile at the same time. A staff member can take a call at their desk, transfer it to their laptop on the way out, and finish it on their mobile in the car without dropping a single second of audio or asking the customer to redial.
Two pricing models — pick the one that matches how you use the phone
We bill business VoIP one of two ways, depending on how predictable your call volume is:
- Credit-account billing (pay-as-you-use). You load a credit account, we measure the actual minutes used across every extension in the company and invoice the total at the end of the month. There is no flat per-extension fee — small teams and seasonal businesses only pay for the calls they made.
- Flat company plan — R1,200 ex VAT per month. One monthly fee covers the whole company. Predictable for finance teams, and it makes the conversation about "who used the phone too much" disappear. Suits offices that make steady daily call volumes and don't want a usage surprise at month end.
Either way the underlying service is the same — same SIP trunks, same handsets, same softphone, same number porting. We're happy to start a customer on the credit model, watch their usage for the first two months and then move them onto the flat plan once we both know whether it'll save them money.
Hardware we supply (and why it matters)
Buying a hosted SIP account online is easy. Getting it to actually work on day one — with the right handsets, the right firmware, QoS configured on the office router, and softphones logged in on every PC — is the part most businesses underestimate. Beathan ships the SIP handsets, provisions them against your extensions before they arrive, and installs the softphone on each user's PC or laptop during onboarding. New starters get a handset and a working softphone on their first morning, not on the third day after their manager has chased IT three times.
Softphone on every PC — your business line follows the laptop
The softphone we install turns any company PC or laptop into a fully-featured business phone. Headset plugged into the USB port and the laptop becomes the desk phone — useful for hybrid teams, remote staff, sales reps working from coffee shops, and anyone who already lives in front of their screen. Inbound calls ring the deskset and the softphone at the same time; outbound calls show the company caller ID regardless of which device placed them. Voicemail lands in email so users see missed calls even if they were away from both the handset and the laptop.
Who this is best for
Our VoIP service is built for South African businesses with between five and two hundred extensions who want a single supplier responsible for the handsets, the software, the SIP trunk and the support call when something stops working. That covers most accounting practices, security control rooms, solar installers, professional services firms, and any office that wants to stop paying Telkom for a copper PABX. Number porting from existing landline numbers is standard, so you keep the number printed on every business card you've ever handed out.
