Security Guard Clock-In App
Guards start and end their shifts on the handset at the post. The app works out which site it is at, the guard proves who they are, and the time goes on the record instead of into a register.

How it works
Finds the site by itself
When a guard opens Roll-Call, the app takes about three seconds to work out which site it is at. The site name appears at the top, so the guard can check it before clocking in.
Four ways to prove who you are
Each company chooses which methods it allows. If the camera will not focus, the guard taps an NFC card or types an employee number instead, and the shift starts anyway.
Today at the site
The Today tab lists who is expected on shift, who has clocked in, who is on a break and who has not arrived yet. The breaks list only shows people who are away right now, which is what a guard taking over the post needs to know.
Breaks on the record
Guards see only the breaks their site allows and that they have not already taken. The due-back time comes from the system rather than the handset’s clock, so the supervisor sees the same time the guard does. If a guard is late back, the app records by how much.
Works without signal
Clock-ins and breaks are saved on the handset and sent when signal comes back, with the real time kept. A guard who clocks in at 03:10 and only syncs at 06:00 is recorded at 03:10.
Explains when it thinks you are off site
If the position does not match a site, the screen shows the nearest site, how far away the handset thinks it is, how far that site’s boundary reaches and how accurate the position is. Where GPS struggles, an NFC tag at the post proves the guard is there by touch.
